'Varanam Aayiram' reels go missing

Tension prevailed in the sets of Surya starrer 'Varanam Aayiram' unit in USA after a few reels of the movie shot in America reportedly went missing.

According to reports, director Goutham Menon has shot some scenes of the movie in USA featuring Surya and Sameera Reddy. He reportedly sent those reels to Chennai through his production managers to Chennai to be handed over to post-production managers.

To the surprise of Goutham Menon, the cans containing the reels were fund missing when they reached Chennai airport. Following a complaint, the reels were traced. It is reported that they were left behind at Singapore, where the production managers took a connection flight to Chennai on their way to Chennai from USA.

Official announcement on 'Kuselan'

The official announcement on Rajinikanth’s next movie – a remake of Malayalam hit 'Katha Parayumbol' - has finally put a full stop to all speculations. The producers and the director of the proposed movie met the media persons yesterday (January 15) at Taj Coromandel in Chennai, to announce the news.

When Rajini made up his mind to do a film for KB, he had asked director P. Vasu to select a right story for remaking. Vasu selected 'Katha Parayumbol', after considering various projects. When Rajini saw this movie he was virtually moved and gave his nod to the project.

Vasu requested the media not to write that Rajini would do an honorary role in the movie. He would act in an important role, said the director. “The whole story revolves around him”, declared Vasu.

The press meet was attended by K. Balachandar, Seven Arts Vijayakumar (the producer of Malayalam original), director P. Vasu, Vaijayanthi Movies Aswin Dutt (Telugu producer), and story writer cum actor Sreenivasan. The movie will be made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. Kavithalaya, Seven arts, and Vaijayanthi Movies are the joint producers of the venture, which will be directed by P. Vasu.

Sreenivasan, who wrote the story of 'Katha Parayumbol' and donned an important role in the film, was a junior to Rajini in the film institute.
