Rajinikant helps Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan got shocked when he heard that Superstar Rajnikant's Tamil film 'Kuselan' has been wrapped up and will be releasing in August.

Rajnikant's previous film 'Sivaji' although was a Tamil film managed to get unexpected attention of people from all over India.

So the producers of 'Kuselan' had planned to release the Hindi dubbed version at the same time when the movie hits the cinema halls in south.

'Kuselan' is the remake of the Malyalam hit film 'Katha Parayumbol' so is King Khan's forthcoming film 'Billoo Barber'.

Sharukh wanted to finish off the work of his film fast and get it released as a Diwali movie.

And he was also confident of getting his film first to the theaters.

Upon hearing that the Hindi version of 'Kuselan' will be reaching the theaters much before his film will get exposed, SRK panicked as if this happens the box office prospect of 'Billoo Barber' will get severely damaged due to having the same theme and story.

Adding more intensity to his tension was that in both the films, the lead actors appear in 20 different looks in a single song.

SRK had no other option than to make a call to the South Superstar and request him to change the north Indian release date of 'Kuselan'.

Rajnikant considered Sharukh's request and assured him that his film will get to the halls only after Diwali.

'Ayirathil Oruvan' resumes filming

After many deliberations at the Producers Council on Monday over the film 'Ayirathil Oruvan', all issues were sorted out and Selvaraghavan has agreed to commence shooting of the remaining portions of the film.

The movie starring Karthi, Reema Sen and Andrea went to the floors a year ago. However with Selvaraghavan reportedly exceeding the budget, producer Ravindran knocked the doors of the Producers' Council.

After much deliberation by both parties, a solution has been reached and both parties accepted to it. This undisclosed solution has made it possible for the movie to resume shooting. Over 80 per cent of the film is already completed. The last and final schedulae has begun at the Ramoji Rao film city in Hyderabad.

Parthiban plays a cameo in the movie and music by G V Prakash.

The exploits of Surya, B.LO, Tanya, Rohit, Akash and Ralte on hostel campus would most certainly arouse the curiosity especially in the background of the dense forest atmosphere that prevails on their campus. The movie would be mostly on the lives of these young adults in their 12th grade. 'The film will have exciting action and humor laced with loads of twists and turns' says Anita.

Music for 'Kulir 100°' is being designed in such a precise manner that it plays different characters in the film so much so that the music part would synchronize with the emotions of the lead characters identifying with their innate natures.

Says Sneha, ''Achchamundu Achchamundu' is a thriller that will give you the creeps. The movie has come out very well. There are no songs in the film and the total duration is only one hour and twenty minutes. There are not much of fight sequences too. It'll be a great movie to watch'.

This is the first time Sneha is acting in such a kind of film. Moreover, this is the first time she had to stay in a foreign location for so long to complete the film. Ravikrishna's miraculous escape

 Kadhalna Summa Illa Gallery

A high intensity motorbike chase sequence was filmed in the dense forests of Rajamundry as part of the climax for the film 'Kadhalna Summa Illa' recently. The scene involved the hero of the film Ravikrishna along with Sarvanand to chase down a group of terrorists on motor cycles.

The artists were upbeat about the sequence as a lot of energy was needed for the shots. Unfortunately, a stuntman's (acting as a terrorist) motorbike lost control and crashed into Ravikrishna's bike sending him out of control. Since he was traveling quite fast he was thrown into a nearby ravine along with his bike.

The director of the film Illangkannan and the rest of the crew were shocked to see this happening. As luck would have it, Ravikrishna did not fall into a huge pit that was very near the place. Though dazed, Ravikrishna thankfully did not sustain any injuries.

After a while the young actor returned to work amidst cheering members of the unit.

'Kadhalna Summa Illa' is produced by the Raj TV network and showcases Kamalinee Mukherjee as the heroine. Tejashree would feature in an item song. The film's shooting is to take place in Pollachi followed by a twenty-day schedule in Chennai.

As actor Sathyaraj famously said once, 'Rajini's body language is great even when he sleeps', the man of the moment Rajinikanth has done justice to his part as a star on screen. The trailer also reveals many things. An insight into the story of how a world which was common for two boys had drifted apart creating two different worlds as time the weary traveler moves on stealthily.

Vadivelu looks comical and vibrant. One look at him and you are sure to have a good laugh. Wonder what the twin mustache does for him. The mustache grows bigger and smaller at will. Wonder what controls that?

The music and the general appeal of the trailer sure carries the soul of the film at its flamboyant best.

P. Vasu, the master at amalgamating good stories and the commercial element seems to have gotten out of the correct side of his bed when he started off with 'Kuselan'. Everything seems to have fallen in place. Rajinikanth of course is the star….be it the trailer or the full length film.

Finalizing Rajini's looks for Robo

Director Shankar and costume designer Manish Malhotra are busy men these days. They have the rather pleasant task of stylizing superstar Rajinikanth in such a way that he jells with the character he plays in the film. Initial reports indicate that Rajinikanth would play a young scientist in the film and would be seen in a rather eccentric getup.

But then, what is a Rajini film without style and substance? Manish Malhotra is a big name when it comes to dressing up popular stars. His work in 'Sivaji' was 'to the point' and brilliant. The Shankar-Malhotra combine would most definitely want to recreate the stunning Rajini demeanor with Robo as well. To finalize his looks, photo-shoots were held at the AVM studios and a popular studio in Nungambakkam. Rajinikanth dressed up in Manish Malhotra's costumes and reportedly looked dazzling.

Rajinikanth is not all that young anymore and so requires wigs these days. Many of his fans still believe that no wig can actually live up to his original hair. But then his original hair is lost forever and so hairstylist Banu was roped in for 'Sivaji'. She has been restored with the responsibility for 'Robo' as well.

Shankar is known to experiment and so he is expected to organize many more photo-shoots before actually finalizing the star's looks. Aishwarya Rai who plays Rajinikanth's leading lady in 'Robo' is currently on a world tour with her husband and in-laws. As soon as she gets back to India, another round of photo-shoots are expected to take place.

Animated Rajinikanth starts work

Superstar Rajinikanth is starting work in his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth's film 'Sultan – The Warrior' today. Shooting is happening in a 3D Motion Capture studio in Hyderabad.

It has been confirmed that Vijayalakshmi would be playing the leading lady in the film and not Ileana as reported earlier.

Motion Capture technology entails actors to be wired up with infrared lights and as the actor moves, the movements are recorded onto a computer. These movements would then be applied to 3D models that are designed after the actors.

This is the very first time that a 3D animation movie is being made based on an Indian actor. Rajinikanth's unique body language and mannerisms would be reflected completely on the 3D model that's going to play Sultan – the warrior.

The movie is being produced by Ocher Studios owned by Soundarya Rajinikanth and is expected to be released in 2009.

Priyamani hits back at Cheran

Actor - director Cheran had launched a scathing attack on actress Priymani recently.

In an interview to a magazine, Cheran said that she did not deserve the National Award and she had no interest to do quality cinema. Cheran had approached Priyamani to act in his 'Pokkisham' initially and as she declined, he reportedly roped in Padmapriya.

In her retaliation, Priyamani said, ' Cheran did not approach me. One of his assistants sought me to act in 'Pokkisham'. However I was busy with a Telugu and a Malayalam film. Manirathinam's film in Tamil might commence at any moment. Hence I quietly declined Cheran's offer'.

'I am annoyed at his comments on me. It upsets me a lot. I worked hard in 'Paruthiveeran' and Ameer helped me come out with my best. Cheran's comments are unwarranted', she said.

Sequel fever hits Kollywood

The trend for making remakes seems to have died down a wee bit. However this is the season for making sequels in Tamil Cinema.

Soundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Super Star Rajinikanth is reportedly planning to do a sequel to ‘Billa’. R K Selvamani has completed the shooting for the sequel to his hit film ‘Pulan Visarani’, which he has titled ‘Pulan Visaranai II’. Bhagyaraj is directing his son Sathanoo for ‘Puthiya Varpugal’.

Meanwhile, Vishal too is eager to do a sequel to his forthcoming release ‘Sathyam’.

Addressing media persons, the actor said, ' ‘Sathyam’, which is a cop story, has come out really well. It would be released on the 14 of August. Director A Rajasekar has given his best'.

'We are planning for a sequel to ‘Sathyam’. But I am not sure when it would go to the floors. All depends on the success of ‘Sathyam’ ', he said.

Vivek fills in for Vadivelu

After Vadivelu reportedly walked out of the sets of ‘Padikathavan’ following a tussle with director Suraj, Vivek has been roped in to replace the comedian.

According to sources, Vadivelu uttered some extra dialogues, which were not there in the script while shooting a comedy scene. Irked by this, director Suraj asked Vadivelu to go by the script.

Vadivelu, who took it as an insult, walked out of the sets after an argument with the director, it is said. To repair the damage, Vivek has been asked to do the role for which the actor too has expressed his consent.

Rajini cut-outs in USA

Nayantara's sex appeal in 'Sathyam' not forced – Rajashekar

'

'Sathyam' features Nayantara in a glamorous role and has reportedly performed in a steamy manner with Vishal in a song sequence. Ever since the movie's stills were published in the press there has been a lot of talk of the 'onscreen closeness' of the lead pair. Many even started wondering if Nayantara was forced to step on the glamour element.

When a section of the press voiced this to the director of the film Rajashekar, during a press meet held recently, he categorically denied forcing Nayantara into appearing sexy in the film.

'The story needed the female lead to be glamorous and I had made this point very clear when I narrated the story to her' said Rajashekar.

Nayantara plays a daring television journalist in the film and her relationship with a top cop adds on the fuel to her investigation as well as the police department's hunt for the baddies.

'Nayantara is a thorough professional and took it upon herself to do justice to the role' Rajashekar added.

The film is slated for release on August 15 as 'Sathyam' in Tamil and 'Salute' in Telugu. What started as a four-Crore budget went on to a whopping cost of 23 Crores. About 600 prints are being made available for the release.

Since Soundarya is in charge of the 'graphics' part, she has been shot in a 'working mode' in her office.

Similarly, G. V. Prakash has also been shot in a 'working mode'. Chandramukhi also had its director P. Vasu, producer Ramkumar and music director Vidyasagar egging on the audience by shouting 'Repeat' in the song 'Devuda….Devuda'.

Every single news about 'Kuselan' is exciting and more such info is expected to be pouring in till the movie's release.

'Kuselan' in Hindi, Kannada now

Noted Malayalam actor Srinivasan's 'Katha Parayumbol' is going places rather quickly. The acclaimed Malayalam hit is now ready for release in Tamil and Telugu starring Rajinikanth.

Titled 'Kuselan' and 'Kathanayukudu' in Tamil and Telugu respectively, the movie is directed by P Vasu.

Buzz is that director Priyadarshan has already starting work on the project and plans are on to remake it in Hindi with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.

Rumors are doing the rounds that efforts are being taken to remake the movie in Kannada now. In all probability, Ramesh Aravind and Golden Star Ganesh might be part of the project.

The film is all about two childhood friends among whom one becomes a superstar in the movies and the other becomes a rustic barber.

The sensitive theme of the movie has already created waves and it looks like the story would be very valid across cultures.

Vijay in a movie titled 'MGR'

Actor Vijay is playing the lead role in a movie titled 'MGR', directed by Perarasu. Hold your horses and don't jump to conclusions. This is a film within a film.

Vijay's dad S. A. Chandrasekhar is directing a film called 'Pandhayam' with Nithin Sathya donning the lead role. Vijay will be playing himself in the film as a guest performer. Since he plays himself, he will be depicted as though he is shooting for a film under the direction of Perarasu. And that film's title is 'MGR'.

The scene was shot in Chennai recently. Nithin Sathya, the hero of 'Pandhayam' plays a die-hard Vijay fan in the film and so goes to see Vijay shooting for a movie. Prakash Raj and Sindhu Thulani also are in the cast. Vijay Anthony has scored the music.

It may be recalled that Vijay had earlier acted in a guest role in S A Chandrasekhar's 'Sukkran'.

Vijay is meanwhile busy with 'Villu', directed by Prabhudeva and the shooting for the film, produced by Ayngaran Internationals is on at a rapid pace.

'Kuselan' on wheels

Promotional activities for movies are getting bigger and more creative these days. As already announced, there would be a live music show by G. V. Prakash in a bid to popularize 'Kuselan' music.

And now the latest buzz is that a 'Kuselan' bus will travel on the roads of Chennai very soon. The bus would be painted with the movie's stills with stylish superstar Rajinikanth highlighted in a spectacular manner.

Reports suggest that the bus will stop at select bus stops for Rajini fans to get a close look at the adornments. The 'Kuselan' think tank is also planning on running competitions in a bid to have maximum involvement from the general public. T. Shirts, bags, caps and many more with 'Kuselan' images would be given away as prizes.

A similar bus was designed for the Suriya-Jyothika starrer 'Perazhagan' some years back. Rajinikanth's 'Kuselan' on wheels is sure to increase the fervor Tamil audiences already have for the highly awaited film which is slated for release on the 31st of July.

'Marmayogi' and Shriya – TOTAL STRANGERS

It was reported a few days earlier that Shriya would play the heroine in Kamal Haasan's 'Marmayogi'. But then the news has turned out to be totally false. Shriya was in Chennai for a brief period and has categorically denied her association with 'Marmayogi'.

“I was quite surprised to see the media go hammer and tongs on me being a part of 'Marmayogi' because nobody had approached me to be a part of the film. If such an opportunity came, I'll most definitely be one of the happiest people in the world”, says Shriya.

The gorgeous actress has her hands full at the moment and is part of Vikram's 'Kanthasamy' and was in Mexico for the film's shooting. She is slated to start filming for 'Jaggubhai' soon where she plays Sarath Kumar's daughter. K. S. Ravikumar would direct that film.

Shriya will be pairing with Dhanush once again as she will be joining the successful 'Polladhavan' team soon, for their next film. Director Vetri Maaran is currently coming up with a story that's expected to have a slick and compelling narration.

The two Hollywood projects that Shriya has been part of have reportedly shaped up very well. 'The Other End of the Line' produced by Ashok Amritraj has the actress play a Call Center employee who falls in love with a customer just by listening to his voice.

The other English movie she is working in is Deepa Mehta's 'What's Cooking' where she'll share screen space with Seema Biswas and Lisa Ray.

Shriya is also part of a Hindi project titled 'Mission Istanbul' which is expected to release by the end of this month.

If there is someone who can be termed ON DEMAND – Shriya would be a perfect fit.

Big B in 'Marmayogi'?

It has been confirmed that ‘Marmayogi’ will have veteran Bollywood actress Hemamalini playing a prominent role. But the biggest surprise that could lead to tremendous anticipation is that Amitabh Bachchan might be part of the project too. Kamal Haasan, it seems is trying to rope in the legendary actor for an interesting role.

According to sources, Kamal Haasan has recently expressed this desire saying ''We are working on ‘Marmayogi’ which will be on a grand scale and Amitabh Bachchan would be perfect for a role in the film”.

It can be recalled that plans were on to rope in the Big B for the Rajini starrer 'Sivaji'. However he declined the offer.

It would be interesting to see if the Shahensha of Hindi films is fascinated by 'Marmayogi'. Sure would be great if he is. If that happens, it will be the first time Amitab would be part of a Tamil film.

Kamal Haasan in 'graphics'

Actor Kamal Haasan will play a guest role in 'Indiralohathil Ilavarasan', a movie starring Telugu hero Srikanth.

The movie is the dubbed version of the Telugu film 'Yamagola'. Meera Jasmine and Reema Sen are part of the cast. For the Tamil version, a few scenes have been shot. Among them, a prominent sequence involving Kamal Haasan will be added to the movie. A sequence depicting Kamal Haasan from his earlier films would be added to the film with a lot of graphics.

“As far as the story is concerned, the entire movie unfolds in Indiraloham. It is a humorous and entertaining film”, says Srikanth.

St.Thomas brings Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan together?

As reported earlier, Madras Archdiocese is producing a film on the life of St. Thomas, an apostle of Jesus Christ.

St. Thomas came to India to spread God's message after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his tomb is located at the Santhome Basilica in Chennai. Plans were made to make a spectacular film along the lines of 'Benhur' and 'The Ten Commandments' showcasing the life and times of St. Thomas.

It has been confirmed that Ajith and wife Shalini will be part of the project. According to unconfirmed sources, superstar Rajinikanth will be playing the role of legendary Tamil littérateur Thiruvalluvar in the film. The sources also add that Kamal Haasan will play a prominent role and actors Vijay and Vikram will also feature in the film.

Funded by the Government of Canada and the Vatican, the film will be made at a whopping cost in various locations in India and abroad. Shooting is slated to happen in January 2009 and the film will grace movie screens in 2010.

If the unconfirmed sources are to be believed, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will share screen presence after a very long time….well over twenty five years.

The film was recently launched at the Santhome Basilica compound by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

Rajinikanth's 'Sultan - The Warrior' to release in April 2009

The much-awaited Rajinikanth starring animated movie 'Sultan -The Warrior' featuring Rajinikanth will hit movie screens in April 2009. April is considered to be an auspicious month for Rajinikanth for all his films released in April have gone on to become big hits.

After scouting in Vietnam for selecting the backdrops to shoot the movie, the film crew was back in Chennai recently. Rajinikanth is now expected to join the crew to commence work in a Motion Capture Animation Studio in Hyderabad to shoot for the movie. It would be later animated.

Motion Capture technology entails the artist to be fitted with infra red lights that can be tracked on the computer. All the actions performed by the actor would then be applied to the 3D model. Incredibly, the 3D model (designed just like Rajinikanth) would do exactly the same actions that the star performs in the studio. Movies like 'Titanic' used this technology with stuntmen in studios and later adapted on live action sequences (people washed away by water) to get the stunning scenes as real as possible.

'Sultan – The Warrior' has five songs set to tunes by A R Rahman and it would be released next february. The movie is being produced and directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth for her home production house Ocher Studios.

'Nandhalala' starts filming

It is well known that Mysskin is mighty passionate about 'Nandhalala'. The director who delivered two big hits in 'Chithiram Pesudhade' and 'Anjathey' is also acting in his third project apart from directing it. The story is about a six year old kid and a thirty year old 'kid-like' person who go in search of their respective mothers.

The journey they take would also be a journey into the very essence of human nature in all it's splendor.

Four days of filming is over in a rather quiet manner keeping the intensity of the story in mind. Starting off with the portions that involve the boy and Mysskin, the movie will plod on in a smooth manner.

Mysskin belongs to the school of thought that believes in recording the sound portion along with the shooting part. No wonder that this project is rolling on in that fashion. Moreover, online editing is also going on. Shots from multiple cameras cut appropriately on location to get the right effect. Dummy soundtracks have also been posted to gauge the effect and the director is reportedly happy with what he is churning out.

A film on children highlighting the finer points of humanity will surely be a welcome relief for Tamil audiences.

Shriya to pair Kamal Haasan

Terrific news has reached the ears of Shriya. The cute actress, who acted opposite Rajinikanth in 'Sivaji', will share the screen with Kamal Haasan now.

Reports suggest that she has been urged to act in Kamal Haasan's multilingual project 'Marmayogi'.

''I went over to cloud nine when they approached me to act opposite Kamal sir in ‘Marmayogi’. However, talks are still on and nothing has been finalized yet.'

When asked for the reason, Shriya said, 'Since I am already committed to a couple of projects including ‘Kandasamy’, ‘Jaggubai’ and a Hollywood film produced by Ashok Amritraj, I need to squeeze some time in between to be part in this prestigious project'.

On Kamal Haasan, she says, ' he is a talented actor, who has a passion for cinema. To be part of his project is a delight for any actress'.

Shriya plays a Call Center employee in the Hollywood film and ends up falling in love with a foreigner. How they meet and does love really blossom forms the rest of the film. Shriya incidentally has won the heart of Ashok Amritraj with her portrayal.

'Patch-Up after the Break-Up?' – Simbu and Nayantara

Both Simbu and Nayantara somehow make it to headlines no matter how docile they are. But then, can both be docile for long….probably not. Both are made for making waves in their respective films.

After high intensity spotlights were beamed on them with regards to their alleged love affair and then the alleged break-up, things got too hot for comfort. Grapevine has it that Simbu and Nayantara are now in a patch-up mood.

According to sources, both met in a party at a star hotel in Chennai recently, where their 'broken hearts' yearned for some glue to do away with the crack.

It is said that Simbu, who came to the party hall to meet his friend actor Vishal was surprised to see Nayantara there, along with Trisha.

He reportedly enquired about the actress and her forthcoming films for which his pair in the film 'Vallavan' reportedly answered with a smile. It is also said that Nayantara too inquired eagerly about Simbu's future projects.

It may be recalled that in a recent hunger strike conducted by the Tamil cinema industry, Simbu and Nayantara were seated next to each other. The pair attracted all eyes towards them though they did not speak a word with each other.

G. V. Prakash rockets himself to cloud nine

G V Prakash is flying high these days. The songs he composed for 'Kuselan' is topping the audio charts and what's more…. he is flooded with offers from just about everybody in Kollywood. Appreciation from the superstar himself has landed him in great joy.

Meanwhile, the young music director is hoping for more variety in his music.

The talented young man who has in his films used several singers feels that variety is the need of the hour. He chose Punjabi singer Daler Mehandi to render a song in 'Kuselan', and opted for veteran playback singer P B Srinivas in 'Ayirathil Oruvan' and Subha Mudgal in 'Anand Thandavam'. Prakash, who has sung for the likes of A R Rahman and Harris Jeyaraj, will be lending his voice for his own music for the first time in 'Angadi Theru'.

'I want to go in for variety. I always look to explore with new voices,' the young happy music director says.

Neelambari is back

Ramya Krishnan, touted as the ever-youthful actress despite her age is all set to stun audiences with her performance in a movie called 'Arumugam'. The movie is to be directed by Suresh Krishna and will star Bharath.

After her marriage with Telugu director Krishna Vamsi, Ramya Krishnan refused many film offers that came her way and concentrated on producing and hosting game shows for television. The role that Nadhiya played in the movie 'Sandai' was first offered to Ramya Krishnan who turned it down.

After listening to the story of 'Arumugam' an impressed Ramya Krishnan gave the green signal.

The actress shot to fame after her inspired character 'Neelambari' in the smash hit film 'Padayappa'. Many film lovers felt that she even stole the limelight from Rajinikanth in the film. 'Nilambari' is a character that will be etched among classic roles in Tamil Cinema.

Interestingly, her character in 'Arumugam' is also along those lines….a determined woman with shades of desperation stylishly spitting venom.

Ramya Krishnan is back to what she does best….inspired performances on the silver screen.

'Padikkadhavan' comes up with educated ideas

Gone are the days when permission to film in railway stations and airports was as easy as pie. Due to these crowded places becoming soft targets for terrorists, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned with their security measures. Therefore, obtaining permission to shoot in railway stations and airports has become very hard and troublesome. Even when permissions are granted, filmmakers find it extremely difficult to complete all the shots within the stipulated time.

The makers of the film 'Sathyam' needed an airport to film an action sequence. Airports in India said NO while an airport in Dubai said YES. The crew went over there and canned the shots.

Jeevan was supposed to star in a film titled 'Payannigal Gavanathirkku' and the film was to be shot extensively in railway stations. Since permission did not come their way the film sadly had to be abandoned.

Dhanush's 'Padikkadhavan' needs a railway station to can some 'vital' scenes. Not sure if permission would come their way, the filmmakers decided to erect a railway station set at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Sources say tremendous effort has been put in to bring about the authentic effort.
A wise decision indeed by the team that bears the name 'Padikkadhavan'.

Ajith, Shalini in a film on St. Thomas

One of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ, St. Thomas, came to India after Christ was crucified with a mission to spread the Word of God.

St. Thomas was also part of the famous 'Last Supper'.

A film is being planned to bring to light the life of St. Thomas with a whopping budget of Rs. 50 Crores. Ajith and Shalini will appear in guest roles in the film that will start production in January, 2009.

The movie's launch was held on the 3rd of July which is also 'St. Thomas Day' at the Santhome Basilica compound. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi officially launched the film and a host of politicians were also present.

Incidentally, Santhome Basilica houses the saint's tomb.

The makers of the film have planned to shoot in locations such as Chennai, Iddukki, Munnar and a few places abroad. The movie will also feature Hollywood stars in it.

The film will be released in 2010.

Kamal's short film on ‘Marmayogi’

Remember the grand trailer Kamal filmed for his dream project 'Marudhanayagam' a decade ago.

In similar vein, the actor has now come up with a short film on his forthcoming movie 'Marmayogi'. Sources reveal that the short film comprises the theme of the movie, cast and crew along with other technical details. It would be screened at the grand launch of 'Marmayogi' planned at Mumbai by this month end.

It is said that bigwigs of Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shah Rukh Khan are expected to attend the launch ceremony. Produced by Pyramid Saimira, ‘Marmayogi’ would have Hema Malini and other Bollywood actors in pivotal roles.

'Robot' goes 'crystal ball' gazing

Though predictions come true or not, Tamil Cinema is well known for going by what astrologers predict. An interesting tidbit about the much hyped and highly anticipated film 'Robot' starring superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai seems to be in consultation with a famous astrologer.

Sources have indicated that a top personality involved with the project had taken director Shankar's horoscope to the astrologer in a bid to find out about the film's prospects. The astrologer in turn had wanted to meet Shankar in person before going ahead with the predictions. Shankar had an audience with the astrologer and certain 'revelations' were made.

According to the astrologer, Shankar's 'time' is good at the moment and will continue to be so for a few years. However, with regards to 'Robot', the movie must be made immediately in order to have a dream run worldwide. A delay in its release might even doom the movie to failure.

This information has reportedly rattled the director. One will have to wait and see if the director takes the astrologer's prediction seriously and start filming at once.

It is not know if the astrologer is a fan of the Rajini – Shankar combination and is in haste to see the movie released quickly.

Rajinikanth unplugged in 'Kuselan' audio launch

Super Star Rajinikanth revealed the secret of his young looks on screen at the audio launch of 'Kuselan' in Chennai on Monday.
Rajinikanth said that after 40 years, one must try to avoid all the 'white' things in food such as sugar, salt, rice, milk and curd. 'With these, one must always have positive thinking and good words. "If everything is positive, one would not look old at all', he remarked.

Rajinikanth announced on the occasion that he would donate Rs15 lakh to the workers of his movies whenever his films are released.

Apparently referring to big films that he is working in, Rajinikanth said," When I was supposed to lift mountains, I feared to lift even a crowbar. But KB guided me and advised me well'.

'Kuselan' is produced by Pushpa Kandasamy for Kavithalaya and Vijayakumar for Seven Arts and directed by P Vasu. A remake of the Malayalam hit 'Katha Parayumbol', the movie features Rajinikanth, Pasupathy, Nayantara, Meena among others. G V Prakash has scored the music.

The audio was released by K Balachander and the first CD was received by A R Rahman.

An innovative approach was meted out during the audio launch. Since the movie dwells on friendship, top personalities appropriately handed over the film's CD to their respective best friends giving an insight to who their respective best friends were. Rajinikanth gave the CD to his best friend Murali, Balachander to Bharathiraja, P. Vasu to Leo Christopher, Prakash Kumar to P Vijay (director of Krieedam) and Jagapathi Babu, who is doing the Telugu version 'Kathanayakudu', to his friend and actor Arjun.

Balachander, thanking Rajinikanth for doing the film, said, "He is not just my protégé but also a man with noble principles. I will not claim that I discovered Rajinikanth. I just polished the diamond, which is shinning brighter today".

The audio of the Telugu version was also launched on the occasion. Actors Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, Ali, Vadivelu, Manobala were present on the dais.

The event witnessed the presence of Latha Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Dhanush, Dhanush, Soundarya Rajinikanth among others on the occasion.
