'Polladhavan' starring Dhanush and Divya Spandana turned out to be a smash hit in the year 2007. The actor was mighty impressed with the film and the directorial excellence of Vetri Maaran so much so that he was adamant to team up with the director for another film. Dhanush had told the press at that time that he was keen to work with the 'Polladhavan' team for another film.
The producer of the film Kathiresan started making arrangements for the new film and Vetri Maaran started weaving a new story to recreate his success on debut. Meanwhile Dhanush completed 'Yaradi Nee Mohini' and ventured to act in 'Padikkadhavan' and the industry was abuzz with the news that his next project would be with the 'Polladhavan' team.
But then a fresh piece of news has surfaced saying that "Dhanush will team up with his brother Selvaraghavan after 'Padikkathavan' and that the 'Polladhavan' team will have to wait till its completion".
All these developments have irked and frustrated an actress named Shriya Saran. The actress who is making waves on a national scale was signed up by Kathiresan in the month of January saying that her project with Dhanush will start in March and go on well into April. She had allocated her dates accordingly, but then a stoic silence prevailed in context to the project. Our man flint Dhanush supposedly had an extended trip with 'Yaradi Nee Mohini' and then took his own time at the University of 'Padikkathavan'- probably with arrears. He seems to have missed his dear brother so much during all this time that he has decided to spend time with him for a film.
This delay had prompted Shriya to take a call on the project as she is one of the most sought after heroines currently. She volunteered to return the advance she had received from Kathiresan. The producer obviously confused at the state of affairs reportedly dilly dallied without actually taking back the advance. Shriya, now the damsel in distress knocked on the doors of the Artistes' Association and reportedly handed over the advance amount to them. With this action she has obtained the much needed protection in order to pursue acting in other films.
The ball is now in the court of producer Kathiresan and director Vetri Maaran to choose a new leading lady for their project. This might end up being an easy task with the amount of time Dhanush might take to join them.
Whoever said Tamil Cinema does not come up with enough action? The Butterfly Effect seems to be in motion here full time.
